Aaron Griffin

Aaron Griffin

Aaron Griffin was the former CEO of Griffin Imulsion Corporation, and a Stranded leader in Char after the Hammer of Dawn counterattack. He assisted Delta Squad when they passed through Char during the Lambent Invasion.

Griffin, like nearly all Stranded, had immense amounts hate and bigotry towards the COG after the Hammer Strikes. However, Griffin was notable even among Stranded for his hatred of the COG. He held a group of Stranded in Griffin Tower, creating a communty of hostile, hate filled Stranded. Aside from his hate for the COG, Griffin was a business man of greed before and after the Hammer Strikes.

Adam Fenix

Adam Fenix

Decorated veteran of the Pendulum Wars, accomplished scientist, and father to Marcus Fenix--Adam Fenix's contributions to society are many, though none are so notable as his development of the Hammer of Dawn, the Imulsion-powered satellite weapon that scorched the surface of Sera. Ten years after Emergence Day, Adam Fenix was killed--presumably--in the Battle of Ephyra, in which Marcus Fenix abandoned his post to rush to his father's aid at the Fenix Estate. Valiant though the effort may have been, Marcus failed to save his father, and was summarily incarcerated for dereliction of duty.

Anthony Carmine

Anthony Carmine

As the youngest member of Delta Squad during the Lightmass Offensive, what Private Anthony Carmine lacked in combat experience, he made up for in unbridled enthusiasm. Anthony and his brothers come from a long line of soldiers that believed deeply in the honor of death on the battlefield -- unfortunately, Anthony brought honor to the Carmine name shortly after the offensive kicked off, killed by a Locust sniper.

Anya Stroud

Anya Stroud

As Delta’s Control contact, Anya Stroud guided Delta Squad on their mission to destroy the Locust, providing vital intel and strategic advice to the squad in the field. Following the sinking of Jacinto and the dissolution of the Coalition of Ordered Governments, Anya has joined Delta on the front lines of the battle, fighting alongside the squad that she supported remotely through countless conflicts. Following in the footsteps of her mother Major Helena Stroud, Lieutenant Anya Stroud is a resourceful, fearless Gear.

Augustus Cole

Augustus Cole

Private Augustus “Cole Train” Cole was once a successful Thrashball player known for his hard-hitting and flamboyant style. After Emergence Day, Cole joined the military and brought that same grit and intensity to the battlefield. Cole has spent most of his military career alongside his friend Damon Baird. As the two begin a new chapter in their military careers, one thing holds true: Nothing stops the “Cole Train,” baby.

Bernadette Mataki

Bernadette Mataki

Sergeant Bernadette "Bernie" Mataki, or Boomer lady by Cole and Granny by Baird, was a Gear soldier in the COG Armed Forces. Bernie was born on the island of Galangi in the South Islands during the 34th year of the Pendulum Wars. She was the daughter of a farmer, who came from an Northerner family, and was the sister of Mick Mataki. After joining the COG at eighteen years of age, she became one of the best snipers in the army. She spent most of her career in the 26th Royal Tyran infantry, serving in several different companies. She fought in several of the most important battles of the Pendulum Wars, including the Battle of Shavad and the Battle of Aspho Fields.

Clayton Carmine

Clayton Carmine

The third and eldest Carmine brother to serve with Delta Squad, Clayton bears the names of his slain siblings on his noticably beefy arm. More experienced than Anthony and Benjamin, Clayton has a score to settle with the Locust. But will he survive long enough to avenge his fallen brothers?

Damon Baird

Damon Baird

Private Damon Baird is a dedicated tech-head and professional skeptic. In Baird's world, if something can go wrong, it probably already has. His sarcasm can keep people at a distance, which is why Baird prefers the company of machines. He believes in the Coalition's cause, but he's often frustrated with command decisions, and took offense when Hoffman promoted Marcus Fenix to lead Delta Squad instead of him.

Dizzy Wallin

Dizzy Wallin

A former Stranded turned reluctant soldier, Dizzy Wallin is torn between his distrust for the Coalition and doing what’s right for his family. As the Locust war escalated, Dizzy realized he was endangering his family by living outside Jacinto's secure walls. Signing on with Operation Lifeboat, he joined the COG military in exchange for asylum for his wife and two daughters. Now an Assault Derrick driver, Dizzy may wonder if he’s traded one menace for another.

Dominic Santiago

Dominic Santiago

A seasoned fighter who’s positive even in the darkest of hours, Dominic Santiago freed his best friend Marcus Fenix from Jacinto Maximum Security Prison and recruited him into Delta Squad. His battlefield intensity is rivaled only by his loyalty to Marcus--and his wife, Maria. Dominic's relentless search for his wife finally ended during Operation: Hollow Storm, when he and Marcus found her in a Locust processing facility, barely alive and irrevocably twisted. Marcus left his side to allow Dom a final moment with his beloved Maria before ending her suffering.

Jason Stratton

Jason Stratton

Jace Stratton was just a boy when Emergence Day struck Sera -- when he witnessed the slaughter of his family at the hands of the terrifying Locust Horde. His childhood cut tragically short, Jace grew up in a Jacinto orphanage and enlisted as a Gear almost immediately after coming of age. He has seen many battles, first as part of Midnight squad in the Lightmass Offensive, and later with Delta-One through Operation: Hollow Storm. His hope and faith have been constantly tested, but he steeled himself by restoring hope to those around him.

Marcus Fenix

Marcus Fenix

Few have given more and lost as much as Marcus Fenix. A promising soldier during the Pendulum Wars, Marcus saw everything change on Emergence Day. Marcus bravely fought the Locust for ten years, then, during an intense battle, he abandoned his post to rescue his father, Professor Adam Fenix. But he arrived too late. Marcus was tried for dereliction of duty and sentenced to 40 years in Jacinto Maximum Security Prison. Incarcerated for four years before being released to fight Locust again, Marcus was later promoted to sergeant.

Mihn Kim Young

Mihn Kim Young

Minh Kim is a strictly by-the-book soldier, who closely follows the COG's rules and code of conduct. Early in Gears of War, Hoffman entrusts Kim to lead Fenix and the rest of Delta squad to locate Alpha squad. They succeed in finding Alpha squad, but fail to acquire extraction. Kim is separated from his comrades during an intense fire-fight with the Locust when awaiting retrieval. While attempting to hold off the Locust ambush from the rest of Delta squad, Kim is picked up and stabbed in the torso by General RAAM close to the end of the first act.

Richard Prescott

Richard Prescott

Politics runs in the veins of Coalition Chairman Richard Prescott. As a boy, Prescott watched his father and grandfather, themselves politicians, guide Sera through difficult times. Now, Prescott has enacted several orders that grant the Coalition sweeping authority to help defeat the Locust. These decisions have made him unpopular with those who feel the Coalition has overstepped its bounds and, in the name of security, become an authoritarian regime. Regardless of these accusations, Prescott remains dedicated to ensuring humanity’s survival — no matter the cost.

Samantha Byrne

Samantha Byrne

Samantha "Sam" Byrne's father, Sgt. Samuel Byrne, fell in battle at the siege of Anvil Gate in Anvegad, Kashkur before the birth of his daughter. Sam has followed in his footsteps ever since. She first became acquainted with Delta at Vectes Naval Base, and later served alongside Marcus and company against the rise of the Stranded insurgency at New Jacinto. Sam is headstrong, aggressive, and has a knack for tattooing--she was responsible for the angelic depiction of Maria on Dom's arm.

Victor Hoffman

Victor Hoffman

A military man to the core, Colonel Victor Hoffman demands discipline and sacrifice from those under his command. Hoffman’s strict adherence to these ideals has caused him to cross swords with Marcus Fenix. Hoffman’s testimony helped convict Marcus of dereliction of duty, although Hoffman later promoted him to sergeant out of necessity. As the war with the Locust escalates, Hoffman must put aside his doubts and rely again on Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad.
